Pelvic Floor and Women's Health
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is an evidence based practice, that can help you find solutions to many conditions you thought were "normal".
Maybe you think leaking while you sneeze or laugh was the norm after having a baby or as you age?
Or may be you think painful sex is something you will just have to deal with?
Or maybe the kegels you keep doing don't help you at all?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy helps treat various dysfunctions related to the muscles that form a "basket" at the bottom of our pelvis (hence pelvic floor muscles). These muscles have very important functions such as organ support, stability, sexual functions, and more. However, as you will learn in your session, treating your pelvic floor involves more than kegels or core strengthening. It also involves education about breathing, and discussions about you as a whole. Did you know pelvic floor is a common area where we "hold our stress"?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy helps with various conditions, a few examples are incontinence, a feeling of heaviness and pain.

Diastasis Recti
Diastasis recti simply means separation of the recti (front of abdomen) muscles. Diastasis occurs because our belly grows to accommodate our growing baby.
Diastasis recti may be related to problems such as low back pain, prolapse and incontinence therefore it is important to work on improving the function of the tissues around this area.
C-Section Scars
Working on your C-Section scar is more important than you may think, not only physically but also emotionally.
